To a rural fire department, words cannot describe what this engine means to this area. Chief wants to call it "Cosmic", but "Bigboy" will do for now.
Obtained in late 2005 with a FEMA grant, this vehicle fits the need we had for a tanker, and then some. Some of the details are: Mack diesel 5 speed chassis, 2000 gallon poly tank, 1250gpm pump, 10" dump valve, 1 1/2"-2 1/2"- 5" pressurized, 2 1/2"-5" non-pressurized outlets, 2 1/2"-5" suction, generator, 2500 gallon drop tank, ladders, suction lines, complete strobe and siren package, intercom system, the list goes on.
It is a quite capable vehicle that should allow us to obtain an ISO 8 rating. This is noteworthy in an area without hydrants. We have also laid in hose for use in attack, as this winters' wildfire season has proven to be like no other, and this truck is a capable pumper as well as our main tanker.

We would like to thank the Scituate Fire Department for the obvious care they took of this vehicle while they had it. We would also like to find out where Scituate/Chopmist Hill is, we may learn something.
We were also fortunate in that the first folks to see this vehicle outside of the Fire Department were attendees to the Talihina Christmas Parade, and not at a fire. We are still attempting to clear the drool marks, as this was quite a showstopper. Note to Scituate FD:  This was the biggest, baddest, brightest, and loudest fire truck there (and probably in this whole part of the state), which is appropriate for a vehicle with this one's capabilities.
 This sticker speaks for itself.
 We must never forget.
