Senior Citizens Partner with Masons in Auction

From the Clayton Today, 7/11/2002
The members of Tuskahoma Masonic Lodge joined with Honobia Senior Citizens, at the Honobia  Community Center, Honobia, Oklahoma in a fund raising effort. Their goal was to raise monies to improve the Community Center and purchase equipment for the childrens playground. There was a lively auction in which the Masons displayed the objects for sale while the auctioneer, Harold Starbuck (we are told he is not of the famed Coffee family but a very good and talented auctioneer nevertheless) delivered his spiel. A very delicious meal was offered by the ladies of the Senior Citizens group for a small $5.00 donation. All present took advantage of this offer and seemed to enjoy the food. On the side, some Seniors offered ticket chances on a beautiful afghan.
There was much visiting and fellowship and everyone seemed to have a good time. We are told that this kind of activity occurs rather frequently in this particular location.
We will try and name those present and working but we are sure that the list will not be complete. The Seniors included but were not limited to: Joyce Kinsey, Secy/Treas., Senior Citizen Don McKee, Mbr Board of Directors, Senior Citizens, Howard Kinsey, Pres. Board of Directors, and Jon Davis Mbr. Board of Directors. The Tuskahoma Masons included Brothers Charley Talbott, P.M. and pastor of Christ’s Church, Nashoba, Oklahoma, John Welsh, P.M, Treasurer and Talented Banana Pudding Maker Jack Wilson J.D. and a Talented Horseman and Dentist in Clayton, Oklahoma, Arvel JacksonW.M. and Venerated Mayor of Clayton, Oklahoma: Doug Hobbs, M.M. Plural M.M. Co., "waiting in line" State Representative and Hodie Huddleston, P.M. and chosen Master Monitor.
The Tuskahoma Masons matched $1000.00 of the money collectedand a check for 2869.95 was delivered to the Honobia Senior Citizens on Wednesday, June 7, 2002, by John Welsh, Treas.
